How our dance lessons for kids are structured
Our Ready Set Dance Ready Set Acro, Ready Set Ballet, Ready Set Acro, and Ready Set Move and Ready Set Dance classes are carefully structured to include warm-ups, skill-building exercises, choreography practice, and cool-downs, ensuring a well-rounded experience for each child. The individual learning structures for each dance program are as follows:
Ready Set Dance Classes
Through our multilevel curriculum of various dance styles, Ready Set Dance promotes the three c’s; Confidence, Coordination, and Creativity. Children develop muscle strength, control, improved balance and achieve coordination milestones through our jazz, tap, music, singing and hip hop classes for kids.
JAZZ – Develop muscle strength, control and balance and achieve coordination milestones like skipping before going to school.
HIP HOP – Bust out some ice-cold dance moves just like Freeze to our original hip hop tracks.
MUSIC – Develop the musical ear, dynamics and tempo while having fun with musical instruments and the parachute.
SINGING – Sing like Twirl and build confidence singing on the microphone.
TAP – Learn the fundamentals of tap in a playful and creative way splashing in puddles and shuffling like a penguin.
All these ingredients together create a super hour of fun!
Ready Set Ballet Classes
With the inclusion of props such as rainbow ribbons, feathers and bubbles, children have a blast twirling, swaying and popping bubbles. These props add the fun and also support tactile awareness, fine motor coordination and control.
MUSIC – Engage in specifically designed music that captures the beauty of classical ballet.
CURRICULUM – Develop coordination, body awareness, strength and flexibility both through visual and auditory instruction.
MIME – Explore creativity and gain confidence by going on a picnic with FREEZE and TWIRL, riding the tutu train to storybook lane and so much more.
THEMED DANCES – Learn the beautifully themed dances that have music prompts to support preschooler’s playful participation in dance activities.
PROPS – Have fun twirling with rainbow ribbons, swaying with feathers and popping bubbles. These resources support tactile awareness and strengthen fine motor coordination and control.
Ready Set Acro Classes
The program is developed with original music with lyric cues and focuses on three key components: Stretch, Strength, and Skills.
STRETCH: Enhance flexibility and expand the range of motion in all major muscle groups.
STRENGTH: Young learners engage in a variety of exercises designed to promote physical strength and control.
SKILLS: Preschoolers develop social literacy and build confidence while exploring a wide range of AcroDance movements.
Ready Set Move Classes
Our Move class offers toddlers and their grownups a comprehensive and engaging experience. Through the power of movement and music, we foster physical, social, and cognitive development. This holistic approach to learning and play helps participants build essential skills such as social awareness and social interaction in a fun way. They also cultivate a love for movement and music that can last a lifetime.
The ENGAGE section is a playful exploration of music, movement songs, nursery rhymes, lap play and parachute fun.
The EXPLORE section is set up as a circuit around the room with obstacles like stepping stones, tunnels and sensory activities designed to encourage investigation and build coordination skills.
The EXPRESS section of the class is a fun activity involving free dance movement which develops creativity with instruments, feathers and bubbles.
How our children's dance lessons are split into age groups
Ready Set Dance classes' multilevel curriculum is split into age groups (Level 1, 2-3 years and Level 2, 4-5 years) or can be completely combined with the dance teacher (or dance teachers) selecting exercises to suit the different needs and abilities of each student. Whether classes are split into age groups or not depends on the number of students in the class.
